چکیده

Specific anatomical structures from the female body, such as axillary slope, armpit, pectoral muscle, or abdominal tissue, can be present in mammograms and might affect proper mammogram analysis, especially populations with overweight issues, is case Mexico. This work aims to determine if better results obtained an automatic analysis by removing fatty tissues a preprocessing step. The experimentation carried out applying muscle segmentation technique Mexican dataset comparing same mammograms. Furthermore, performed using Portuguese public datasets, INbreast BCDR. conducted experiment will allow us differences across different populations. fat removal method based on breast contour-edge which points of interest are detected cut tissue. Our suggest that proposed suitable technique, obtaining 94.18% acceptance, according qualitative performed, showed tissue yields contains significant patients.

A New Preprocessing Filter for Digital Mammograms

This paper presents a computer-aided approach to enhancing suspicious lesions in digital mammograms. The developed algorithm improves on a well-known preprocessor filter named contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) to remove noise and intensity inhomogeneities. The proposed preprocessing filter, called fuzzy contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization (FCLAHE), performs n...

A novel and automatic pectoral muscle identification algorithm for mediolateral oblique (MLO) view mammograms using ImageJ

Pectoral muscle identification is often required for breast cancer risk analysis, such as estimating breast density. Traditional methods are overwhelmingly based on manual visual assessment or straight line fitting for the pectoral muscle boundary, which are inefficient and inaccurate since pectoral muscle in mammograms can have curved boundaries. This paper proposes a novel and automatic pecto...

A New Collection of Preprocessed Digital Mammograms

We contribute with a publicly available repository of digital mammograms including both raw and preprocessed images. The study of mammographies is the most used and effective method to diagnose breast cancer. It is possible to improve quality of images for more accurate predictions of radiologists, by applying some preprocessing techniques. In this work we introduce a method for mammogram prepr...

A New GLLD Operator for Mass Detection in Digital Mammograms

During the last decade, several works have dealt with computer automatic diagnosis (CAD) of masses in digital mammograms. Generally, the main difficulty remains the detection of masses. This work proposes an efficient methodology for mass detection based on a new local feature extraction. Local binary pattern (LBP) operator and its variants proposed by Ojala are a powerful tool for textures cla...

a new type-ii fuzzy logic based controller for non-linear dynamical systems with application to 3-psp parallel robot

abstract type-ii fuzzy logic has shown its superiority over traditional fuzzy logic when dealing with uncertainty. type-ii fuzzy logic controllers are however newer and more promising approaches that have been recently applied to various fields due to their significant contribution especially when the noise (as an important instance of uncertainty) emerges. during the design of type- i fuz...
